Acronyms

A

AOV: Average Order Value Calculated by taking the total value of sales over a period and dividing it by the total number of sales.

B

B2B: Business to Business, the exchange of goods takes place between two businesses rather than between a business and a consumer.

B2C: Business to Consumer, the exchange of goods or services takes place between a business and a consumer.

C

CPC: Cost per click, an advertiser pays for every click on an online advert

CTR: Click through ratio, the percentage of people who click on an advertisement when compared to the number of people who have been shown it.

L

LTV: Lifetime Value, a metric that reflects the total amount a customer may spend with a company during the lifetime of their relationship.

P

PLR: Private Label Rights, a license where the author of a product sells the rights to all or most of its intellectual property. 

S

SEM: Search Engine Marketing, undertaking marketing activities to position a website within the search engine rankings. Can include both SEO and paid advertising strategies.

SEO: Search Engine Optimisation, altering or constructing a website in a manner such that it ranks highly within search engine results.

Business Terms

Affiliate Link

A unique link that allows the network or advertiser to track the activity including who directed the user to the website so that commission can be paid.
