Using SCAMPER
Scamper stands for Substitute, Combine, Adapt, Modify, Put to another use, Eliminate and Rearrange. It is a creative mnemonic designed by Bob Eberle and is often used in new product development. Based on Alex Osborn’s classic brainstorming, SCAMPER assists in trigger new or innovative ideas by employing a series of questioning terms around each heading.
The questions are not a series list to be filled out – rather they are designed to stimulate creative thought using existing products or services as a starting point for new and innovative solutions. It can be employed alone or as a group activity and the goal is to come up with as many ideas as possible, wacky and wild is to be couraged.
